Matte Black has become the color of choice for the latest Lotus built Hennessey Venom. It’s a powerful and sexy woman wrapped in short black dress, looking to unleash some fury. But enough with the analogies, point being, this car hauls and has grotesque power to spare. Imagine sliding up inside the Hennessey Venom and kicking the loud pedal to raise the RPM’s and feel the 1000-1200 horsepower throw you back into your seat.
[ad#Google Adsense]You read that right, the Hennessey Venom comes in two different high horsepower applications, rated at 1000 and 1200 horsepower. Power comes from an outsourced and highly modified ZR1 6.2 liter LS9 V8. The engine is then mounted to an ultra light Lotus Elise modified chasis, which weighs in at a paltry 2,400 lbs. It’s an astronomical horsepower to weight ratio that makes this street car the wildest ever built.
According to the preliminary fact sheet, the Hennessey Venom is capable of a 0-60 in just 2.4 seconds. Which is wild enough, but imagine that type of break neck acceleration that won’t let up until 260 miles per hour. That means that not only can the Venom produces mad amounts of horsepower, but it can also successfully transfer it to the ground.
It’s a high priced super car, but it will take more than money to land your hands on one of these beauties. Hennessey only plans to produce 10 of the Venom GT’s per year. So not only will the $600,000 price tag be a limiting factor for most, but the demand by millionaires will most likely rise far above supply. Well endowed wallets and the well connected are the only ones that need apply. I would suppose those with a death wish as well, so it’s a good thing those who buy the car will get 1 full day of on track instruction for free.
