Audi A7 Sportback Available Next Week

Wondering when the Audi A7 Sportback will be available in the US?  On July 26th, 2010, which is next week, you should be able to walk into any Audi dealership and get your own.  Just recently the auto maker sold it’s 2 millionth car in the US, a huge milestone.

The A7 is being built to compete with cars like the Mercedes CLS, specifically a luxury car with 5 doors.  The profile of the A7 almost resembles the Porsche Panamera and will most likely also appeal to the same buyers in that market.  It’s long lines and AUDI refinement make it a good buy.

Power wise the A7 Sportback will be able to compete with other high power luxury cars.  Reportedly the Sportback will get pushed down the road thanks to a 3.0 liter supercharged V6.  Like the popular AUDI A6, buyers will be able to choose between a diesel of gasoline variant on the motor.

V6 Power Wars

[ad#Google Adsense]By now I’m sure you’ve heard that the 2011 Mustang V6 is supposed to pop out a whopping 305 horsepower, which makes Camaro v6 owners testees shrink a little.  Not to mention, this hulking V6 is the first production car in the world to produce over 300 horsepower while simultaneously getting better than 30 miles per gallon.  It’s insane, it’s like having vegetables that taste like cake and it’s making Chevy think twice about what type of numbers they should be shooting for in their next V6 Camaro.

The power struggle amongst the little (smaller) engines that could is a hot topic for reports prying at Chevrolet execs.  In a recent interview, Chevy marketing manager was asked if the Camaro would be able to live up to Ford’s horsepower challenges.  According to him we’ll find out in a few weeks when the 2011 Camaro figures actually hit the press.  I’m suspecting this was said with a wink and may have been his only way out of the room without looking like a wussy man.

Truth be told however both the 2010 Camaro V6 and 2011 Mustang V6 are strong contenders, even compared with just a few years ago.  The 2010 Camaro V6 is producing 300 horsepower and 273 ft lb of torque, compared to the Mustang V6 at 305 horsepower and 280 ft lb of torque.  Not a huge difference, maybe not even one you’ll feel in the seat of your pants, but the fuel efficiency is higher in the V6 Mustang, which might make you feel it in your wallet.

How would you have reacted 10 years ago if I told you Ford was going to produce a V6 Mustang that produced more horsepower than the V8 GT’s and V8 Cobras?  I would have peed a little laughing so hard.

2007 Ford Mustang on eBay

To many of my readers you are familiar with my obsession with eBay and likewise for it’s tool eBay Pulse.  What’s so interesting about eBay pulse is that it tells exactly what people are searching for the most and today it looks like the 2007 Ford Mustang is at the top of the list, again.  Not that I blame them, after all with 2008 and 2009’s on the way, the price of the 2007 Ford Mustang is dropping in price, big time!

Right now on eBay there are over 125 used 2007 Ford Mustangs, in GT, V6, and specialty trim.  A quick scan of the prices and a buyer could easily find a well equipped Mustang for just over $10,000.  Blame the gas prices if you will, but if I’m gonna pay $4 per gallon, I want to enjoy that gallon!
