Lamborghini Super Car Pic

Lamborghini has released another image teasing us about the upcoming supercar that will debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.  The Lamborghini rumor mill suggests that the new super car will focus less on top speed and more on handling and acceleration.  This is a step away from previous models goals of trying to hit the trifecta of top speed, acceleration, and handling.

Below are the two images released by Lamborghini, which are nothing more than a tease of what will be coming.  If it’s from Lamborghini I can guarantee the buzz is real and what pops up at Paris will be the new poster child for what the common man will never attain.

McLaren MP4 12C Supercar

McLaren is working on developing a following for it’s upcoming supercar, the MP4-12C.  For the first time ever, the MP4-12C will be available on US soil starting next summer.  McLaren has been working feverishly to build a base, setup dealerships, and even create a US online persona so consumers can finally get in line to buy.  A lot of work for a very exclusive supercar, McLaren aims to please and the 592 hp MP4-12C doesn’t leave a lot on the table.

Amazingly enough, McLaren speculates that the first full 2 years of production MP4-12C supercars have already been pre-purchased.  So, even if you decide today that you want one and have the cash, don’t expect delivery until sometime in 2013.  The low slung and stubby monster was inspired by F1 designed race cars and show off almost as hefty a price tag.

Because of it’s price and limited availability the MP4-12C will only be previewed in select markets, where the wealthy tend to congregate.  For example, it’s first showing will be at Pebble Beach and later Beverly Hills.  All in all there will only be 8 dealerships selling the rare supercar or more accurately housing the already sold car.

Saleen Ford GT Auction

On Saturday, a pre-production Ford GT was auctioned off that was owned by the sports car tuner Steve Saleen.  The Ford GT isn’t exactly a daily driver, nor will you see them every where you go, this super car is a limited edition.  Furthermore, there are a number of reasons this auction is unique and will be a one of a one of a kind.

1. It’s a Ford GT.

These super cars retailed for around $150,000 and because of their very limited production, usually sold for much higher than that.  They are a super charged 5.4 liter, light weight monster, built with the latest technology and a worthy super car name wearing Ford.

2. The Ford GT was owned by Steve Saleen.

You know, the guy who designed the S7 supercar, Saleen F-150’s, Mustangs, and pretty much any other Ford product he could get his hands on.  Usually known for their sharp graphic packages and a nack for handling better than cars twice the cost.  Steve Saleen is a legend and anything he has owned or placed his autograph on will be worth many times more than the items original value.

3. This Ford GT was A Prototype/Pre Production Model

That’s right, this car was given to Steve Saleen to drive before the GT’s were even being manufactured.  Consider it a preview of what was to come, only, one person got to watch the clip.  This makes the auction for this Ford GT even more rare and a sight to behold.

The 3 reasons above make this one of the most intriguing auctions ever and an awesome buy for any car enthusiast.  No doubt this Ford GT will be taken out of commission and find it’s way into a collectors museum or back in Ford’s museum garage.

Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition

The Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni Edition is named after apprentice-turned test driver Valentino Balboni.  Balboni was charged by Lambo with test driving every new model Lamborghini produced and thus became legendary.  This new Gallardo is labeled with his name and receives some special treatment, ala some crazy horsepower sent only to the rear wheels, as opposed to a Gallardo’s typical all-wheel drive setup.

Some of the enhancements that can be found within the Lamborghini Gallardo Balboni edition is the 20″ wheels, increased horsepower from 550-582hp, and some cosmetic labeling.  It’s being called one of the best cars ever made by Lamborghini and possibly the most dangerous.  It’s a lot of horsepower to be sent to only 2 wheels and special care must be taken by any driver, experienced or not.

The tuner company Anderson Germany is responsible for the tweaks found in the Gallardo LP 550-2.  The tuning company is known for taking luxury vehicles and modifying them to the customers needs and making truly remarkable super cars.

Pagani Zonda HH Supercar

Zonda is a popular super car that has been around for quite some time, noted by it’s cluster of quad exhaust in the back.  However, Pagani has released some images of it’s next iteration of the Zonda, in the HH Supercar.

Powered by a throbbing v12 engine at a massive 7.3 liters of displacement, the Zonda HH is capable of producing just under 700 horsepower.  In terms of torque, the Zonda produces just about 575 lb ft, yet allows for a zero to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.  What will really take the breath away in this ultra light high horsepower application is the top speed, which doesn’t start losing steam until 217 mph.

What makes these super quick 0-60 times and top speeds possible is the super light weight construction of the body.  Almost every component in the Pagani Zonda HH super car is built from carbon fiber, which keeps the curb weight down to just over 2600 lbs.

No price tag has been released by Pagani, mainly because the Zonda HH is not going up for sale, at least yet.  This super car has been built custom for an American enthusiast.  I’m going to assume he picked out the colors as well, a beautiful blue with gray accents, or vice versa. 😉
