2010 NISMO 370Z

The 2010 Nissan 370Z, tuned by NISMO, was built with muscle and fueled by adrenaline.  A bit over the top, but as you can imagine, this car hauls and shows just how far NISMO can take Nissan sports cars.  Thanks to their after market parts and accessories, NISMO pushed the 2010 370Z to just over 350 horsepower and over 260 lb ft of torque.

Highlights of the NISMO package on the 2010 Z:

  • NISMO Dual Exhuast
  • Sport Brakes
  • Tuned NISMO Suspension
  • NISMO Strut Tower Brace
  • NISMO Body Design
  • 19″ Forged Aluminum Alloy Wheels
  • Special NISMO Interior Trim

The NISMO 370Z is the highest end 370Z you can purchase, above the standard and 370Z Touring edition.  Other than performance, it’s easy to see the difference between the 370Z models.  The NISMO edition just looks racy, with wide body, big spoiler, and aggressive stance.  It takes the already sporty 370Z and adds a whole new level, the likes of which look right at home on any race track.

Fans of Nissan aren’t the only ones impressed with the 2010 370Z.  Thanks to rigorous research and development, the 2010 370Z has won some of the highest automotive awards available.  For 2010 the 370Z received Best Resale Value by Kelly Blue Book, Best Buy Award by Consumers Digest, and Best of What’s New by Popular Science.

Porsche Cayman S Pics

Porsche Cayman S

Not everyone loves a convertible, some love the muffled sound of a mid-mount 3.4 liter engine red lining at 7,200 RPMs.  The Cayman S is not just a sports car according to Porsche, it’s a Porsche.  The latest Cayman S has been built with efficiency in mind, reduced emissions, and very capable power.

It’s hard to confuse the new Porsche Cayman S with any other car on the road or even another Porsche for that matter.  The design features broad curves and dips that are unique to the Cayman styling.  Enlarged front air intakes and side vents hint at the power that the Cayman S is capable of.  The Cayman S model will be trumpeting 320 horsepower which will provide a top speed of 172 mph and a 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds.

Amazingly enough the Porsche Cayman S is also capable of 26 miles per gallon, if equipped with the manual transmission.  Power, looks, and the Porsche emblem doesn’t come cheap, sticker on the 2010 Porsche Cayman S is a little over $61,000.

Toyota Sports Car Under $20,000

Baby Ft-86

[ad#Google Adsense]Perhaps you’ve heard about the Toyota FT-86 concept sports car and perhaps you’ve heard that Toyota had hoped to keep the retail price under $20,000.  Had you heard these rumors you would be right, but unfortunately you’d also be wrong.  Toyota announced the other day that due to research and development costs the FT-86 will have a price tag slightly over $20k.  The good news is that they are also planning on releasing a slightly less sportier version of the FT-86, which will retail for around $15,000.

Also known as the AE-86, this new sports car from Toyota will feature a front-engine rear-wheel drive setup.  Obviously this type of performance setup will feed into the younger generations urge to drift in Haapanese and will likely fill the needs for an inexpensive car in the US that doesn’t have 4 doors.  Toyota has labeled the less expensive FT-86 as a ‘Baby’, although it hasn’t been made clear yet whether that refers to the physical size or just performance.

There have been no release dates set for the Toyota FT-86 Baby, but the standard FT-86 should start hitting show room floors sometime in the next 1-2 years.  Let’s just hope they can keep pricing around the $20k mark and we may have a successful model on our hands that can appeal to both young and old alike.  The body lines remind you of a Ferrari, so lets also hope that there is at least some semblance of performance lurking under the extended hood line.

Most likely the FT-86, photos below, will be marketed under the Scion branding.  Check out photos of the FT-86 from the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show.
