2010 Mustang Advertising On MySpace

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Just happened to be logging into MySpace yesterday and was greeted with a full scale huge ad for the 2010 Mustang.  The advertisement itself was a video of the new Ford Mustang in action, but not in the typical sense I would associate it with.  The 2010 Mustang Advertisement highlighted the cars drifting potential and seemed to be targeting the tuner crowd.

Is this what the Mustang has come to, targeting drifters on MySpace?  Nothing about the ad screamed muscle, but only seemed to try and squeeze the Mustang into the mindset of the small group of kids that think the Fast and Furious movies are real.

The next question that comes to mind is at what cost was this ad created and then cost to be displayed on MySpace?  Surely there are better target markets that yield a larger return on investment for such an expensive marketing campaign.

What are your thoughts?

McLaren Mustang

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

The Mclaren Mustang was what the SVO was supposed to have been, pure crazy performance from a 4 cylinder and handling capable of hitting the track and laying solid numbers.  However, what we were given was a European inspired, under the thumb performance blunder.  It was an 80's attempt at making a fuel efficient sports car and it failed.

Now don't get me wrong, the SVO Mustang is a great collectors item.  Also, for it's time the performance wasn't that bad, but still wasn't enough to please enthusiasts, especially at $25,000.  But what we should have received was what Mclaren created in 1980, the M81 McLaren Mustang.

There were only 250 McLaren Mustangs built, but of those they were track ready and packed a big punch.  Of those 250, 7 were built by Bob Fehan and Ron Fournier and were created with all steel.  The McLaren Mustang was an F1 frame wrapped in bulging fenders, racing inspired lower skirts, and a functional hood scoop.  Under the hood of the McLaren Mustang was a timid 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine, turbo charged to the tune of 300 horsepower.

What Bob and Ron created was what the US should have received, that was later known as the SVO Mustang.  Imagine where Mustang enthusiasts would be today had the McLaren Mustang been mass produced?

Mustangs For Sale

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

So are we getting into the wrong time of year for a buyer looking for mustangs for sale?  Personally I'm already kicking myself for not buying a new project Mustang to play with and break over the winter time.  Unfortunately with warmer weather comes higher prices for mustangs for sale.

I sold my 92 LX last summer, mainly because I was over my head.  Now, I've been getting the itch, like everyone else, which is driving the cost of Mustangs through the roof on eBay and local classifieds.  While during the winter a nice running mid 90's Ford Mustang GT could be had for under $5,000 with plenty of goodies.

The outlook doesn't look good and I fully expect the price of Mustangs for sale to continue to rise until sometime in December.  Maybe I'll luck out and find an actual local listing for a decent Mustang on Craigslist.

2010 Mustang GT

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Ford has seriously revamped the all new 2010 Mustang GT, making an already appealing car drip with sex appeal.  At least for a car nut like myself, the only thing needed to complete the package would be a Racing Fuel smelling air freshner, dangling from the rear view mirror.  But I digress, the new 2010 Mustang GT is really starting to win over even the most jaded reviewers of Fords staple stallion.

Sound Piping

The most noticable change in the 2010 Mustang Gt is the sound you hear in the cabin.  Ford has literally piped in sound from the engine bay, to the cabin, so you can enjoy the sweet tones of the 4.6 liter V8.   This all new for 2010 sound pipe is equipped with a Tuned Membrane to allow the perfect transfer of sound, no fumes, to the driver and those lucky enough to be riding along.

2010 Mustang Mods

Those lucky enough to swing by the Mustang Stable at the Los Angeles International Auto Show was able to fully customize an all new 2010 Mustang.  Thanks to computer technology customers could build and modify to their hearts content and then see the Mustang built right in front of them, on the computer screen.  Optional accessories and modifications include everything from different wheels and tires to hood and sidescoops.

“Nobody has done this before with a new vehicle as popular as Mustang,” said Mark Conforzi, chief designer, Vehicle Personalization.

These mods will be available to anyone ordering a 2010 Mustang from their local dealership.  As of this posting Ford is making available over 40 unique mods that can be ordered.  No doubt this will be a great selling point for those that want to make their 2010 Mustang their own, without hitting up after market companies.

When Can You Buy 2010 Mustang GT?

Ford is suspected to open up orders for the 2010 Mustang this Spring, but your wait may depend on your order.  Knowing the condition of the Big 3 right now they may be hungry to push these out the door.  Retail is expected to be around $28,000 for the 315 horsepower V8 2010 Mustang GT.

09 Mustang For Sale

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Going into 09 the US is attempting to pull itself through a recession, but every gray cloud has a silver lining, hence The Grayline.  The grayline amongst auto enthusiasts is the drastic drop in prices for new and used cars, especially those that are a little harder on the gas mileage.  Specifically Ford Mustangs are dropping in price and the upcoming models like the 09 adn 2010 models are dirt cheap compared to previous years.

Demand for 09 Mustangs is significantly down, but it's hard to point the finger at one specific factor.  Gas prices may be a leading cause, but lately those prices have plummeted as well.  Mustangs are considered a luxury item, after all Mustangs are the best thing to go get groceries in, nor can they hall a load of kids to soccer practice.  So the price of an 09 Mustang plummets and the enthusiasts, with a little extra dough, get to reap the benefits.

09 Mustang

09 Mustang

I'm always on the look out for a deal, specifically online where the market place for Mustangs is much larger than my podunk local lot.  The really good deals I've found are coming off of eBay, where they regularly offer low priced entry fee auctions.  This means that somebody looking to unload a cheap car can do so, well cheaply.  The initial listing fee was completely dropped a few months ago in eBay motors, flooding the marketplace.

What may not mean good news for sellers is great news for buyers.  Currently looking at eBay there are over 25 listings of 09 Mustangs for under $1500.  Now, this doesn't mean there is not a reserve, but obviously the demand is low and it's still possible to snag a deal.  I've had experience where even though the reserve has not been met, the auction ends and then the seller contacts the buyer with a second offer.  Generally this second offer is below the initial reserve, allowing the seller to cut their losses and get out from under the access inventory.

Moral of the story, keep your eyes peeled because 09 is going to be the year of  Mustang Deals.

Many of the Ford faithful have been eagerly anticipating what changes may be coming to the 2010 Mustang model year.  Afterall there is going to be plenty of competition on the market, the Challenger which has already been released and the upcoming redesigned Chevy Camaro.  Certain bulges mean a lot to some fanatics and what may be hiding under that camo dress may be something a bit more radical than anticipated.

Thanks to jhamilton03 for the great spy pics of the upcoming Mustang.  Be sure to check out his full album of the 2010 Mustang at photobucket.

04 Mustangs For Sale On eBay

04 Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang continues to be a top searched query on eBay Motors, mainly because there is such a huge inventory and prices are down.  Specifically you can find a ton of 04 Mustang GT's, V6's, Cobras, etc on eBay right now and some starting as low as $5,000.

If you are new to eBay Motors and looking to buy a Mustang, don't forget you cal always narrow your search down to a designated amount of miles within your zip code.  Often this is an over looked feature of eBay and can make your car buying experience that much more pleasurable.  After all freight on a car can sometimes ruin a good deal.

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Here are the first pictures of the all new 2010 Ford Mustang, of course under wraps. So would this be the Mustang 10, or Mustang 2010? But still, exciting nevertheless, since my blood is blue and my farts sound like a 4.6 on flowmasters.

Man I can't wait until the unveil the 2010 Mustang with it's updated interior and what appears to be a new steering wheel. It's expected the 2010 Ford Mustang will be unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. Stay tuned!
