Ferrari 599 GTO

]]> Is the world ready for another legendary Ferrari GTO?  Doesn't matter, your dreams are about to be overwhelmed with the vision of a 700 horsepower Ferrari monster, which goes by the name 599 GtO.

The 599 GTO is supposed to be the first real predecessor to the Ferrari 288 GTO made over 25 years ago.  According to Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa, the 599 can now get it's proper extreme treatment like only Ferrari can deliver.  Originally the 599 was slated to be released as a GT car, but now expect nothing less than a road legal race car.

Power comes via an evo inspired 6 liter V12, capable of revving to 9000 rpm.  With a freshly tweaked transmission the Ferrari 599 GTO is expected to do 0-60 in 3.7 seconds.  My face just melted typing that last bit.

]]> The Ferrari California has met industry experts with mixed reviews, but one thing stands clear, it's one beautiful piece of art work.  Not to mention, it should be, at least with the cool price tag of $217,000.

Some argue that the new Ferrari California is a bit to feminine, it's a dolled up version of the legendary Magnum PI brand Ferrari, the 308 GTS.  Some truth to that, consider that the Ferrari California seats 4, is a hard top convertible, and even has enough room in the back for a baby seat.  Granted it's still a Ferrari, so a V8 under the hood and impeccable suspension means that it's the sexiest chick car I'd drive.

I don't know any females that are capable of handling a 460 horsepower V8 capable of 0-60 in 4 seconds? Do you?  And even if said female could handle the power of the Ferrari California, would you want her steering $217,000 down the highway?  Maybe for the target market, price is no object, so it makes a great gift for say one of Tiger Woods mistresses.

Fuel Economy In Ferrari Super Car?

]]> Is it possible for the renown super car maker Ferrari to produce a potent vehicle worthy to wear the Ferrari badge and get decent fuel mileage?  According to Ferrari engineers they will be producing the 458 Italia, complete with a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and will do so at 17 mpg.

Take this announcement with a grain of salt, especially considering actual specs have yet to be released.  Furthermore, the harder you stomp the right pedal the faster the fuel gauge drops, no matter the technology.  I would think it would be pretty difficult to keep the foot off the go fast pedal in something as sleek and sexy as a Ferrari.

]]> Ferrari is in the process of developing an all new supercar, the Ferrari 599xx.  Like any other Ferrari it oozes sex appeal, smells like wet panties, and makes every man in the room's pants a little bit tighter.  Yes, mine included.

The Ferrari 599xx is being developed within Ferrari's own customer ranks, meaning with a small buy-in you could be testing this street demon.  According to industry analysts, for a few million dollars you could be playing with prototypes of the 599xx and contribute to it's development.

The track inspired Ferrari 599xx is lethal at a red line of 9000 rpms and over 700 horsepower courtesy of a v12.  This will be the fastest
Ferrari ever built and as it stands now IS the fastest.  Until final production we will hold judgement...and records.

]]> 2008 was a good great year for Ferrari and the huge down turn in late 2008 didn't seem to slow down their high priced performance cars.  As a matter of fact, Ferrari set sales records in 2008 with an ROS of 17.6% and investments research in 18%.  Basically, they made a lot of money selling sexy women disguised as sports cars.

To put this in perspective, only about 25% of all Ferrari cars are sold in the US.  In 2007 they sold only 1,700 cars, which they matched in 2008.  But, in Eastern Europe Ferrari increased sales from 2007 to 2008 by more than 20%.  Furthermore they increased sales figures in the Middle East, South Africa, and Japan.

According to Ferrari they relied on agrressive cost cutting measures and benefited from a greater offering of vehicles than previous years.  The future looks great for Ferrari, with plans to produce facilities that will allow the manufacturer to produce their own energy.  However, like other businesses, the CEO of Ferrari warns of the uncertainty of 2009 and does not intend to remain still.
