2010 Audi A7

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Will Audi be releasing a 4 door A7 coupe in 2010?  Audi has hinted that a production 4 door sport coupe has been in process, at least since the Detroit Auto Show where a potential A7 was being displayed.  In my opinion it's taking a pretty big gamble on the market, the same gamble Porsche is with their Panamera.  Of course, we all know the condition Porsche currently is in.

If Audi does decide to bring the 4 door A7 to market in 2010, it will be 1 of 3 super fast grocery getters.  Not a whole lot you can't do with a super charged v6 of super charged v8 engine, but would you really want to be doing that in an ugly 4 door confused vehicle?

V10 Motor For Upcoming Audi R8 Spyder Roadster

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Lamborghini is donating it's heart to the Audi R8 Roadster to be debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show this year.  The 2011 R8 will feature a whopping V10 monster, pushing 500+ horsepower, allowing the Audi to do 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

According to sources close to Audi engineers the base model Audi R8 will retain it's 4.2 liter V8 motor.  However, the Spyder convertible, will have the V10 option to maintain an elite status.  Although with a top speed of 195 mph it will be hard to tell who's driving anyways. ;)

The V10 Audi R8 Spyder won't be available till model year 2011, so look for it on Audi/Saab show room floors sometime late next year.

Audi A5 Sportback

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Looking to gain more of the marketshare Mercedes and BMW currently owns, Audi will be releasing the Audi A5 Sportback, amongst other models.  Specifically Audi has announced that they intend to sell an additional 1.5 million cars before 2015, mainly in new models and versions like the A5 Sportback.

So far there haven't been any good pictures of the A5 Sportback released, except for a few teasers.  You can see the teaser image along with a picture of the basic A5 below.

The new version of the Audi A5 will be a 2010 model year.  Although a small cosmetic change, 09 going into 2010 will be a big year for Audi.

2010 Audi Q7 Pic

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Audi has released information on the upcoming update to their fresh faced Q7 SUV.  The Audi Q7 will be going under the scalp for 2010 and undergo some tweaks in the optional diesel power plant.  The newly designed Q7 will offer crazy luxury, high end technology, performance, and efficiency being demanded by the big spenders.

The Audi Q7 seems to answer the question,  'What can I buy that's BIG, shows I'm important, but maintain a green appeal as not to piss off my customer base?'

The 350 horsepower V8 will reportedly get just over 18 miles per gallon.  Not too shabby considering all the options you can cram into the large Q7.  Think interior bicycle mount, electric luggage cover, pivoting trailer hitch, and all sorts of combinations of roof carriers.  If James Bond ever aged, had a high maintenance wife, and 3 kids that had to get to soccer practice, the 2010 Audi Q7 is what he would drive.

Audi R8 Pics

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

What does 5.2 liter engine and 10 cylinders have in common?  They both are helping rocket the all new Audi R8 to over 500 horse power.  What's even more inspiring is that the V10 Audi engine is naturally aspirated, so no boost making the big horsepower numbers, just tried and true displacement and Audi racing technology.

As for the raw facts, the Audi R8 reportedly does 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and produces just under 400 ft lbs of torque.  Furthermore it's power peak isn't reached until a whopping 8,700 rpms.  Plus there are lots of handling and suspension technology that Audi prides itself on, which it claims it borrows from Audi's Le Mans victories.  Far to advance for my taste, but just look at the Audi R8 pics from detroit below, enough to get my motor running. /end stupid pun

Audi Hybrid SUV In 2010

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Audi hopes to capitalize on the luxury SUV market in the US come 2010, by offering a new model Q5 Hybrid.  Currently Lexus is the leader in the market,  with the RX400H, but so much can happen by 2010, especially with the lean towards greener vehicles.  Discussions on what the hybrid engine will actually run on is creating some controversy.

In the European markets consumers are happy to purchase diesel hybrid vehicles, mainly because the price of gasoline is higher than diesel.  However, in the US the price between diesel and gasoline is extremely close, and an American consumer is more likely to pick a traditional gasoline hybrid engine.

2009 Audi S3

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

The 2009 Audi S3 is now not only available with five doors, but also with seven speeds courtesy of the much anticipated S tronic twin-clutch transmission, which not only quickens shifts compared with the continuing manual version offered on their other cars, but also slows down fuel consumption. Standard equipment for the 2009 Audi S3 includes 18-inch parallel 5-spoke ‘S’ design alloy wheels and tires, ‘S’ body styling and interior detailing and ‘S’ sports suspension. Heated and Silk Nappa leather-upholstered sports seats and Xenon Plus head lamps with LED strip daytime running lights are also part of the package. Available to order from October 1st at an extra cost of £1,450, the super slick transmission takes OTR prices for the first ever ‘two pedal’ 2009 Audi S3 models to £28,920 for the three-door and £29,420 for the five-door Sportback. UK deliveries are expected to start in mid-December. Equipped with S tronic, the three-door 2009 Audi S3 can touch 62mph from rest in 5.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the manual version with which it shares its governed top speed of 155mph. Equally impressively, S tronic actually boosts the S3’s combined fuel economy figure from 33.2mpg to 34mpg – a feat which the majority of conventional torque converter  automatic transmissions couldn’t match. As a result, CO2 output in the 2009 Audi S3 S tronic falls from 198g/km to 193g/km.

Advanced electro-hydraulic controls and the alternate use of two clutches enable the S tronic gearbox to deliver lightning fast automatic or manual shifts with virtually no interruption of the engine’s power delivery across its seven ratios, and to offer changes via steering wheel-mounted shift paddles for the first time in the S3’s nine-year history. The first of the two clutches serves the odd-numbered gears and reverse, and the second the even-numbered gears, so when the 2009 Audi S3 is being driven in third gear, for instance, fourth is already pre-selected in anticipation. As soon as the shift command is given, the first clutch is disengaged and the second engaged in just a few hundredths of a second, virtually seamlessly. Also faster reacting in this latest 2009 Audi S3 model is the renowned quattro four-wheel-drive system. Its central hydraulic multi-plate clutch now responds even faster when the engine’s 265PS and 350Nm need to be redistributed between the front and rear wheels to maximize stability and traction. The 2009 Audi S3 is now not only available with five doors, but also with seven speeds courtesy of the much lauded S tronic twin-clutch transmission, which is available to order from October 1st at an extra cost of £1,450. Equipped with optional S tronic, the 2009 Audi S3 and S3 Sportback cost £28,920 OTR and £29,420 OTR.

09 Audi RS6

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

The 09 Audi RS6 has made one hell of an appearance at the Moscow Auto Show.  The thunderous 580 horse power V10 wrapped in a modest 4 door sedan body has made me clambering to get some more pictures and info on this bad boy.  It's super car performance with the ability to hall yourself and 4 others to the golf course...or wherever people with that kind of money go.

Beautiful Audi Q7 By JE Design

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

I have just absolutely fell head over heals for the new Audi Q7 by JE Design.  To me it's a grocery getter that wreaks of testosterone and big boy toys appeal, not to mention endless luxury.  I mean, if you gotta go get groceries might as well do it in something bigger than a tiny mini van or weak mid-size car.  Yes, I love my big vehicles and to hell with those of you who want to appear green, walk if you really want to save the Earth. ;)

Now, back to the JE Design Audi Q7, which is aggressiveness personified(i think those are words).  This SUV sets on 22" rims, contains an aggressive front grill and skirts, and sweet ass quad tail pipes.  As for power there is a bolt on super charger that delivers a whopping 500 horse power.  That's enough to put the groceries up against the back glass and blow the panties off of any female on the sidewalk (of legal age of course).
