Toyota has announced that they will be upgrading the batteries in their upcoming 09 and 2010 model year Prius hybrids. Furthermore they will be upgrading the tiny 1.5 litre engine to the one currently used in the Camry, a 1.8 litre.
The new batteries will be made with nickel-metal hybride packs. Everyone is still waiting around [...]

Can you tell it’s a slow automotive news day when I have to write a blog post on the 09 Ford Edge getting a special blindspot mirror upgrade? Jesus, what happened to prototypes making the news, huge engine upgrades, massive recalls? I suppose outrageous losses and low consumer confidence has those departments in the automotive [...]

If you are in the market for a Subaru Forester, then I’d strongly recommend holding out for the 09 model year and go with the turbo option. Unfortunately it looks like the 09 Forester standard motor actually comes with less horsepower than 08 and can make for some sluggish acceleration, even more so when loaded [...]

Subaru has plans of ‘boosting’ the Subaru WRX Impreza’s power output for their 2009 model year. A new buyer can expect stock gains of up to 41 horsepower over the 08 WRX model, which will place the horsepower at around 265. This kind of power numbers will make the WRX just under it’s STi brethren.

The latest throwback muscle car is from Dodge and it wreaks of muscle, testosterone, and yes is another lady that makes my pants tight. Dodge even managed to get the colors right and offer a selection to make anyone feel like a badass behind the wheel of the new 425 horsepower monster. The new 08 [...]

Honda has made a very bold statement and/or goal for their 2009 model Hybrid cars, stating that they plan to cut the technology in half. This huge cost cut is directly related to what they think will be 50% of what is currently used on their Civic.
Tech-On reports on how Kondo create a much less [...]

Earlier in the year Toyota announced the production of an all new Venza SUV. Toyota was hoping they could bring enough change to the crossover market to make the Toyota Venza appealing, you be the judge. Obviously this high priced SUV is marketed towards the ‘Boomers’ and well-to-do small families. I think the new Venza [...]

According to industry analysts and Toyota, the manufacturer is planning on producing 100,000 new hybrid cars by 2009. This is a hybrid only vehicle, which will be released under the Lexus name plate in the US and looks to be an upsale to the great selling green car Prius.
Toyota is obviously hoping this new hybrid [...]

I’m really not much of a VW fan and after seeing the new 2009 Volkswagen Passat not much has changed. I’m not exactly sure what target audience the new Passat is aimed at, but my guess is those people are in their mid 90’s and about to go way of the Dodo, so why still [...]

Expect more of the same for the 09 BMW 7 Series, at least for the basics, it’s in the engine options that it gets real exciting. Not only will you ‘reportedly’ be able to get the BMW 7 Series in V8 and V12 trim, but also an alternative fuel option as well. Generally speaking expect [...]
