Hyundai Veloster Spy Pics

The boys at CarAdvice.com got some great spy pics of the upcoming sport coupe from Hyundai, the Veloster. This early in the game Hyundai is keeping the Veloster under camouflage and we are still waiting on some interior pics.

Although dubbed a sport coupe, it will only be powered with a tiny 1.6 liter four cylinder engine. It's expected that shortly after launch Hyundai will start offering a bigger engine with more power as an upgrade.

The Hyundai Veloster will most likely remind viewers of the Honda CRZ and will be aimed at selling to same market. Personally, I'm not a fan, there is only so much use you can get out of a tiny engine and even smaller car. How much abuse can the little thing take?

2011 Ford F-150 6.2 Liter Spy Pic

The fast eyes over at PickUpTrucks.com have already got spy pics of the new 2011 Ford F-150 Lariat Limited, with a 6.2 liter V8. The truck is a massive step in the opposite direction of getting smaller is getting greener, but man is it a sharp looking truck. Amazingly enough, this spy pic doesn't even have zebra stripes or camouflage of any kind, even complete with badging.

My problem with the new 6.2 liter V8 is the serious lack of horsepower. Currently Ford has produced the 2011 Mustang GT, which has a 5.0 liter engine and produces over 400 horsepower. Yet, this new 6.2 liter produces just 411 horsepower and 434 lb ft of torque. The power gains just doesn't seem to warrant the research and development into the 6.2.

Consider that the 2011 Ford F150 Lariat is just like previous years, it will be built in limited production. For example, just as far back as 2008 only 5,000 units were produced. Likely demand plays a small roll in this luxury pickup truck, with a small bed, but plenty of room for pasengers.

2012 Dodge Durango Spy Pic

Dodge has code named the all new Durango 'WD', which appears to be slightly shorter than previous versions. Although all we've seen so far are camouflaged pictures, featuring the all confusing zebra print, there are a few things that have been confirmed by the SUV manufacturer.

First the 2012 Dodge Durango will be based on the 2011 Cherokee unibody chassis. Next, it's expected that the 2012 Durango will have the same engine options as the current model Jeep Cherokee, meaning a 3.6 liter v6 and a 5.7 liter HEMI.

New 2011 Ford Explorer

I don't need to tell you how many problems the automotive industry has had in recent years, but despite it's plagues, there is a glimmer of good news. Ford has announced an all new 2011 Ford Explorer, which more importantly, will be built in Chicago creating close to 1,200 new jobs.

Production will being in 4th quarter of 2010 and bring a relief to automotive workers needing jobs in the Chicago area. In addition, the retooling of the Chicago plant, along with updates, will cost roughly $400 million a healthy shot into the industries arm.

As far as the 2011 Ford Explorer is concerned, Explorer enthusiasts will love the more fuel efficient redesign. The concept of the 2011 Explorer was shown back in 2008 at the Detroit Auto Show, but I'm sure the final product will not be nearly as concepty. Yes, concepty is a word, I just invented it. Lexus LF-Ch Spy Pics

CarMagazine.Co.UK has released some anonymous spy pics of the upcoming Lexus LF-Ch premium compact. Resembling a rather expensive Honda Civic hatch back, these spy pictures hint at the sportiness of this upcoming release. Unfortunately the pictures are only of the back, but I've included the concept drawings below for reference.

The Lexus LF-Ch will be available for purchase sometime in late 2010 in the UK. US droolers need not apply.

2011 Kia Sportage Pics

Oh how I love when new spy photos show up, adorning the new model are always some beautiful camouflage. The latest spy pics are of the 2011 Kia Sportage SUV, thanks to LefLaneNews.com.

Not a lot is known about the 2011 Kia Sportage, but experts believe that some restyling in the form of coupe-like styling. Again, so hard to tell with that ugly ass camo and the fact that manufacturers love changing things up right until release. I don't think the 2011 Kia Sportage need a lot of attention right now and certainly won't get anyone's heart pumping, but new models need their glory.

2012 Ford Ranger Spy Pic

A few weeks ago there was a picture found of the upcoming 2012 Ford Ranger. Of course, with the camo it's hard to tell exactly what it is, but according to experts it's what will eventually be the production Ranger small size pickup truck.

Originally there was talk of Ford ending production of the Ranger in 2009, but has since been postponed till 2011. Perhaps the production of the upcoming and radically redesigned 2012 Ranger will be produced somewhere other than the US. At any rate, just glad to see car manufacturers planning this far ahead.

2011 Honda Civic?

A picture has surfaced on the internet of a Japanese magazine with a concept picture of the 2011 Honda Civic. Although at this point it may just be a rumor, you can be the judge. For starters, I'm not sure sporty is the first word I think of when I see this tall squished Civic. The tuner boys and girls may feel differently.

At any rate, looks like Honda has plans to completely redesign the Civic. Whether or not the all new model will be a 2010 or 2011 Civic has yet to be officially announced. Please feel free to discuss your predictions in the automotive forum.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Spy Pics

Hyundai has already been throwing buzz words around like Turbo Charge and direct injection when describing the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The manufacturer has been very committed to the creation of the all new Sonata and stating that efficiency and power will be the focus of their engineers.

More interesting to this post is the spy pics of the 2011 Sonata and it's covered skin but exposed lines. It resembles a more expensive BMW, but time will tell when we finally get the bra off these mammaries.

Porsche 998 911 Spy Pics

The all new 998 Porsche 911 was spied via an Italian automotive blog, AutoBlog.IT. The only tell tale sign of a 911 transformation is it's interesting duck tail, which originally was home to either a fixed Whale Tail spoiler, or rising/lowering hidden spoiler to a smooth end. This new style, of course the Porsche 911 is wrapped in camouflage, appears more like the new Mustang duck tial spoiler which would be molded into the rear of the car.

Keep in mind, any opinions or supposed evidence, on these 998 Porsche 911 spy pics are simply speculation. Nobody knows for sure, but something is proof positive, Porsche has taken a commitment to hiding what they have in mind for the next Porsche 911.
