Trying to compete in the market place with other luxury brands, Jaguar has announced a Free Maintenance program for 2011. Dubbed ‘Platinum Coverage’, the free maintenance program was designed to help compete against the idea that Jaguar maintenance is more expensive than other models. It’s certainly a legitimate concern of consumers and this program will cover routine maintenance costs and offer roadside assistance for 5 years or 50,000 miles.
Unlike most add-on car warranties, the Jaguar Platinum Coverage offers free replacement of normal wear items. Items like oil, filters, brakes, brake pads, fluids, and even wiper inserts will be covered for free. These items were added in response to complaints about the last free maintenance program offered by Jaguar, where parts were not part of the deal.
Jaguar’s Platinum Maintenance Program will only be available on 2011 model year vehicles, which will hit first on the Jaguar XJ models in May. Expect the free maintenance program to roll out fully into the other models sometime in June, when the other 2011’s hit the show room.
