Rumor Motor: 2010 Celica RWD
For quite some time there have been rumors abound that Toyota is working closely with Subaru to create a rear wheel drive car, to be released in 2010. According to the blogosphere and forums where rumors get started, it will bear the badge name Celica. Can you imagine the ricer reception!

This rumor seems to originate in some French automotive website, who claims to have contacts. Of course, would it be possible to keep news like this a secret? Could this possibly be the illigetimate son of the infamous Toyota Supra? Hell, if they make it half the car the Supra was, I'll buy one.

This is one good looking car but like most concepts, they look amazing because the artists and designers are allowed to let their imaginations run free a little bit. The problem is the in-between stage when they take a concept and try and make it into a consumer brand the execs, rip the soul out of these cars, and dull them down so that they are more appealing to a broader audience. This coming fom the car maker with the best selling line the Camry, which personally is one of the blandest cars i have ever seen. I am sure that they will have a toned down version of the concept and then offer a number of aftermarket parts.

I agree nerf, unfortunately the almighty dollar drives most of the R & D and final production. However, thanks to enthusiasts there are and will always be plenty of aftermarket goodies to make a vehicle unique.

It will ABSOLUTELY FAIL! Toyota has gotten COMPLETLY AWAY from any style WHATSOEVER! I cant even imagine a librarian wanting a toyota AND I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO FATHOM WHY THEY WONDER WHY THEIR SALES CONTINUE TO FAIL!!!!!!!…They forgot what made them FAMOUS in the 1st place…GOOD LOOKING,GAS FRIENDLY,AFFORDABLE,RWD let me say it again GOOD LOOKING cars!!! The 80s made them LEGENDARY!!! like the Celica,Supra,Cressida,Mr2 and even the corolla…and so on! If they were SMART they would hire ME!!! and ill take them to the TRILLION dollar range…

Keep in mind Diasiss this is still just a rumor.
Now, that being said I agree with you. But all the caps, made me think it was Billy Mays back from the dead trying to sell me Oxy Clean.
