Happy Halloween everyone! Now, watch out for all the cars, trucks, and scary vans that may be out cruising while you go door to door looking for the sweet stuff. Look both ways before crossing the street and be sure to check your apples for razor blades before chowing down.
We've been speculating since May what the successor to the Nissan 350Z would offically be called and today we finally find out. The 2009 Nissan 370Z is the offical name form Nissan and standard edition will be bearing the 3.7l V6 engine. So no more speculation on names, it's done, and those that wanted 350Z^2 lose the bet.
Nissan is still working on a convertible version, but expect the coupe to be displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. Check out the official Nissan pictures of the 09 370Z below.
It's crunch time on almost everyone's wallet, including mine. Although I drive a decent vehicle on the weekends and out on dates with my hot wife, I've been looking for a cheap used car to drive back and forth to work. Essentially, I'm looking for cars for cheap, because the car I'll be dumping all the miles on, won't matter what it looks like in a few years.
Now's a great time to be buying too, since there are so many cheap used cars on the market. There are an influx of quality cars on the market that people can no longer afford, so they are willing to part with them for pratically nothing. Furthermore in this economy people are essentially liquidating their garage for extra spending money, including the car out back that had 1 ft tall grass growing around it. Yes, I'm willing to capitalize on someone elses misfortune, as long as it means a good deal.
Used Jeep
After looking around for some deals, I've also got a few ideas for a new toy as well. I've always wanted a used Jeep, possibly an old Wrangler, to toy around with. I'm really looking for a project Jeep that I don't have to be dependent on, but will provide a little fun after a hard rain. Well, there are plenty of Jeep's under $1,000 right now on the internet just begging to be bought and played with. As soon as I make my purchase I'll be sure to start posting my project pics, until then happy hunting for your own next project.
November brings more than turkey to the United States, it is also the time for the Los Angeles Auto Show and all the new debuts manufacturers will be making. Sure to be a show stopper this year will be the debut of the 2010 Lexus RX SUV. This same Lexus RX has been seen testing in Germany and rumors abound that it will make it's first official showing in LA.
What's unique about the 2010 RX SUV is that it will have options for a V6 hybrid motor capable of 400 horsepower. This potent green machine will carry up to 7 passengers and offer all kinds of luxury technological advances.
Oh yeah, it also looks bad ass.

Chevy is developing a new cross over in their Brazil plant labeled the GPiX. It's claim to fame is reportedly dynamic and daring design, but it looks like all the others too me. And although they may use the term 'rugged' in their description it just looks like another soccer mom jacked up mini-van.
The name itself, GPiX, means Global Image, and supposedly personifies it versatility and technology. Again, I'm just not impressed, but perhaps those in Brazil will find something new and uniqe in the Chevy GPiX. I'm thinking it won't make it to the US or other major markets. Chevrolet will have to at least tag a 'hybrid' sticker on the side of it to add any appeal.

Time to come out of your houses and start rubbing your arms like it's cold, because below are some of the most amazing shots of wrecked Lamborghini's. Looks like the covers have finally came off of the all new Porsche Panamera. To me it looks like a confused station wagon and possibly the love child of a Dodge Charger and Subaru Outback. But hey, who am I to question Porsche and their design and engineering team.

The results are in and the 09 Subaru Forester is named Motor Trends SUV of the year. However, Motor Trend is quick to point out that they did not make the choice for the Forester based on pump prices alone. Although it would be hard to ignore a 4 wheel drive SUV that gets consistent 16 miles per gallon, make that 19 on the non-turbo versions.

Instead Motor Trend sites the 09 Forester ability to be fast, with only a 4 cylinder and 4 speed transmission, and it's massive interior storage capacity. In addition, they were quick to mention how fun the Forester actually was to drive, especially for those who venture off road. The 09 Forester ride height is enough to take it almost anywhere, at least compared with other similar models that it was pitted against.
Last but not least Motor Trend discussed starting prices with the 09 Subaru Forester in comparison to other SUV's in it's class. For a standard Forester the starting price is only $20,660 and if you want the super optioned out 09 Forester 2.5XT it's $31,523. In a contest where being compared to $80,000 Lexus SUV's the 09 Forester shined and won the hearts of those at Motor Trend.

An RV-4 home built aircraft is up for sale on eBay right now and gaining a ton of attention. Not only has this home made aircraft brought almost 4,000 views but also currently stands at 31 bids and $14,766. The real beauty about this RV-4 is that it's not even complete yet!
Specifications
Engine: Lycoming O-320-D2J, 160hp with 1921 hours TTSN (1982). It was removed from a previous aircraft in July 1998. Complete engine logs are provided.
Significant maintenance includes
- Cylinders #1 and #3 were replaced with new ones at 1788 TTSN in 1993,
- The carburetor was overhauled at 1833 TTSN in 1994.
- It was last inspected at 1921 TTSN in Nov 1997.

This makes me wonder, who purchases home built aircraft on eBay? Are there not safety concerns, quality standards, or other tidbits of information one would concern themselves with when purchasing such a risky item? If not, then I know what business it's time for me to get into.
