09 Toyota iQ
Looking for something slightly larger than a golf cart to tool around in? Well you are the target buyer for Toyota's latest creation, the 09 iQ. This teeny tiny 4 seater will be available this fall in Japan and European markets, so the US will have to wait for this glorified go-cart.
Although small in size the 09 Toyota iQ is big on safety features. First it's all steel frame makes this baby weigh in at almost 1900lbs and sports a whopping 12 airbags, including the worlds first rear window air bag.
The 09 iQ is of course a hybrid, which will help Toyota meet it's goals of building 1 million hybrid vehicles a year by 2010.

will they plan on offering a sport version? What a cool Mini Cooper competitor it could be

Hi k!
Actually I think the mini-cooper would look like a semi-truck compared to this little thing. Plus, since it’s a hybrid I sincerely doubt they will be offering a sport version, in comparison to a sport version of the MiniCoo.

Hi Admin, I disagree. The initial versions are a 1.0 gas, a 1.2 deisel, and a 1.3 gas. No hybrid for now mentioned ,sorry. My research since October has found thats exactly what Toyota is thinking. Size as it compares to a Mini is not the point. The point is that the IQ can / will be offered in a sport hatch version as well as a high MPG commuter….and potentially even a roadster.

Was it never supposed to be a hybrid, back when I posted this in Sept of last year? I thought it was, if not, I’m sorry and I stand corrected.
Still, it looks like a pimple with wheels.
