Poor people have poor ways and for some, getting a hold of a Ferrari can only be made possible with a car kit. Thankfully there are plenty of manufacturers out there willing to throw up the entire kit to turn your Fiero or Corvette into an exotic Ferrari F40 or F50.
- Air-Dynamics.WS has created 2 different kits that can transform your Pontiac Fiero into a 360 Spider.
- CarScoop.Blogspot.com has created a Ferrari Replica out of a Nissan 280Z.
- AutomoBlog.net wrote up an article on how to tell the good Ferrari Modena Replicas from the bad.
- KitCar.com provides Ferrari Replica's for sale, if you don't want to take the time to build yourown.

If you had all the money in the world, wouldn't you wan tall the cool toys? I would and if I had said toys, like the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, I wouldn't want Joe Blow's Ripoff-Service working on it. I mean, it's a finely tuned animal and any grease monkey with a wrench and plumbers crack shouldn't be allowed near it. Apparently a certain rich Qatari felt the same way, only took it a bit to the extreme.
At the beginning of August it was reported that a resident of Qatar (I didn't know where it was either-wikipedia) had his Murcielago flown all the way to London and back. This £20 000 round trip service was done, just to have the oil changed.

Supercar power no longer wrapped in a Sedan Body, like the upcoming 09 RS6. The Audi RS6 Avant Wagonmeister is a station wagon wrapped around some freak v10 monster motor. But you already know the details of that, so here are hte pictures of the RS6 Avant Wagonmeister.

Chevrolet has released 2 teaser pictures for their upcoming green vehicle the 2010 Volt. This will be the first electric vehicle for the domestic manufacturer and this is NOT a hybrid. Furthermore, if you can't get away with charging this green machine you can always put tried and true gasoline in the tank to get by. It's a win/win/win.
Here are the released photos from Chevy on the 2010 Volt.

Toyota has announced that they will be upgrading the batteries in their upcoming 09 and 2010 model year Prius hybrids. Furthermore they will be upgrading the tiny 1.5 litre engine to the one currently used in the Camry, a 1.8 litre.
The new batteries will be made with nickel-metal hybride packs. Everyone is still waiting around on the Lithium Ion on battery pack with plug-in capabilities.

Blindspot Mirror
Can you tell it's a slow automotive news day when I have to write a blog post on the 09 Ford Edge getting a special blindspot mirror upgrade? Jesus, what happened to prototypes making the news, huge engine upgrades, massive recalls? I suppose outrageous losses and low consumer confidence has those departments in the automotive industry looking for funds.
At any rate, the 09 Ford Edge will offer a blindspot mirror upgrade as an option. Reportedly this option will actually retail less than the convex little stick on dealies you can grab at Autozone and be BETTER. These special mirrors are designed specifically for the vehicle they will be on, so you can better see the grandma hanging out 1/4 way back off your drivers side lane.

Yes, I have been known to break the speed limit, yes I've had to live with high risk insurance for the first 8 years of my driving life. However, I have never been in an accident, so I'm a prime person to need a quality radar detector, but I have no idea what is the best radar detector. Furthermore, I'm of the mindset that if you can't drive 85 mph on the interestate you don't belong behind the wheel, but that's another story anyway.
My research on radar detectors has brought me to a Cobra brand radar detector, which is also capable of detecting laser. The Cobra XRS-9440 to be exact has caught my attention, mainly because of it's price, and it's brand new on the market. It promises it's technology will help future proof itself since it is already capable of reading KU Band, even though it's not used in the US yet.
Does anyone have an inexpensive Radar Detector that they could recommend?
