The new Audi A6 is quite possibly the most potent Audi you can buy, less the R8 super car. The Audi A6 is part of the manufacturers 'S' line of vehicles and comes with all the go fast goodies you can think of, including a V-8!

The Audi A6 lays down 350 hp thanks to a 4.2-litre v8, compared to 420 hp produced by the R8. In addition to big HP numbers the 4.2-litre also produces a whopping 325-ft/lb of torque. It makes for a smooth ride with plenty of get up and go to embarrass the local muscle car nut.  How about 0-60 in just under 5.8 seconds? Are you feeling damp yet?

As far as looks go it doesn't get too much more refined. Most would never guess there was a bulging-growth-hormone-using motor under the hood. Furthermore, for a little more than $56,000 sticker you could have one of your own.

It's a new racy hatchback in response to the failed acceptance of the last 'sport-back' Lancer that was available in the U.S. Equipped with a turbo charged 2.0 4 cylinder, capable of 230+ hp.

The part that sucks, is that the U.S. never gets a potent finished model like this. Hopefully it won't be too dumbed down by the time it hits domestic dirt.

Is there any question that the new 2008 Dodge Challenger will be a hot item? No, but Jesus Mary and Joseph, a special edition 2008 Challenger sold on eBay for $228,143.43...eeek! Granted, this special edition muscle car features a custom B5 blue paint scheme and comes complete with 2 VIP tickets to the Challenger 500 NASCAR race.

Sound expensive? Don't worry, base model 2008 Challengers will sell in the neighborhood of $38,000, not cheap but a far cry from this eBay sticker. The new SRT8's will come standard with a 5-speed automatic transmission, 6.1L Hemi engine worth 425hp and 420 ft-lbs of torque. I'd assume dealers will be selling these cars well over sticker, considering there will be a short suppy of 6,400 produced the first year.

Dodge is known for the SRT series of vehicles, always being a step above their basic counter parts. Earlier this year Dodge released the Caliber SRT4, with the expected visual stylings, tuning, and attitude you would expect. Think grocery getter on steroids.

The engine compartment of the Caliber SRT4 receives a turbo charged inline 4 cylinder, still capable of 27mpg. In addition, the power is linked up with a 6 speed manual transmission which pushes the 286 hp to the 19" wheels, firmly planted on the ground. The base price of this pocket rocket SRT4 is around $23,000. Sure does look the part though.

Bringing a luxury SUV to the wealthy and/or those of us who don't mind getting in debt up to our eyeballs. It's sophistication(far more than this site has), luxury, and more bling than you can shake a $74,000 stick at. But I digress, I'd be driving the 2008 Lexus LX 570 if I had the means.

Green folk need not apply to this SUV, it packs a potent 383 horsepower V8. Plenty o-power to enjoy some offroad trails, if you have the guts, and handle nicely all over any cross country trips a family of 8 might make. In addition, everyone can stay comfortable doing it as well, since the LX 570 has a 4 section climate control with 28 independent vents. Ahhh, now that spells relief in 100 degree weather.

Recalls galore, with rather important possible failures, including a fuel line and interior door handles.  The recall indludes the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and E-Series Vans. The Ford recall includes all model years 2007-2008.

The problem could prevent the door handles from returning to a closed position, but the latches work properly, said Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood. However, in a side crash, there could be a risk of the door latch opening because of the problems, he said.

As of this posting there have been no reports of fires from the faulty fuel rail, crashes, or serious incidents with the supposed faulty hardware. Expect dealers to start fixing the recall on the interior handles in February and the fuel issue in March.

All there we got are rumors about the plant in this bad boy, but it looks like the V6 will remain the standard and the 2009 Mercedes CLK will continue with an optional 5.5l V8. In regards to the 09 CLK, rumor has it there may be a 4matic optional transmission, but expect a base rear wheel 2 wheel drive setup.

This model should be available the end of 2008 and a convertible sometime early 2009. Again, this is purely speculation, but who can't speculate about such a beautiful looking auto? Another first with shots from Edmunds.

Spy photos of the next 2009 Nissan Maxima during testing this week. A few things to notice about the 09 Maxima is that it will be slightly larger than previous years and a redesigned flat grill. There may be more lurking under the camo, but that's all we can see for now in this upcoming Maxima.

Domestics make the world go round and hearing of such a staggering loss makes me weep. For North American car manufacturer General Motors this was an expected announcement, based on 07 quarter reports, but it doesn't make it hurt any less. $38.7 to the red side of the spectrum is no way to end a year, but there is only one way out, up. Starting anew has made national news with GM offering to buy out more than 74,000 U.S. workers, to replace them with lower paid ones.

"We're pleased with the positive improvement trend in our automotive results, especially given the challenging conditions in important markets like the U.S. and Germany, but we have more work to do to achieve acceptable profitability and positive cash flow," Wagoner said in a statement.

It looks like years of bad decisions have finally caught up with the manufacturer. Furthermore the elders at GM have accepted that no significant profits will be met until sometime in 2010, by staying focused on reducing work force and reworking health benefits.

"We need to get all the structural costs down," Chief Financial Officer Fritz Henderson said. "We need to step on the gas in terms of how we're performing in the market as well."

Back in the day I had one of these torque monsters (relative to it's size) and it was a phenomenal bike to drive. I couldn't bring myself to adopt the Harley type bikes, nor did I particularly enjoy the high pitched whine of a crotch rocket, but the Suzuki SV650 made a nice compromise to both.

It's an entry level bike, being the first big boy you may wrap your legs around, but allows for plenty of room for growth. I enjoyed mine for several years before finally retiring to sports cars, but I still miss tearing around town and long winding roads. Yes, I'm being nostalgic, but just looking at the SV 650 makes my heart race again, although I had the slightly more attractive SV650S model.

Pros Easy to manage, ideal first 'big' bike and far more comfortable than its half faired brother. They sound the business with aftermarket pipes as well

Cons Maybe physically small for some and not the sharpest looker in the group
