Ford Plant Coming To Thailand
Looks like Ford is taking another risky move and dumping money into foreign soil. According to FoMoCo they will be setting up a new $500 million dollar facility in Thailand, with hopes of moving into the Southeast Asia market.
"Thailand is one of the best places in Asia'' to build cars, Chris Richter at CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets said today in Tokyo. ``It has low-cost production and strong access throughout Southeast Asia.''
With this new plant Ford is hoping to pull itself out of it's 11th consecutive losing streak. It's expected the Thailand plant will be pushing out more than 275,000 cars, which would be exported to Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
