08 Mitsubishi Outlander

Auto123.com has just completed a hands-on review of the new 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander and it makes me want to run to the dealership!  With a slightly different perspective on the marketplace, a Canadian discusses the astigmatism with Mitsubishi success to our Northern neighbors and what should be expected.

The Outlander has a list of options that go on and on. Rockford Fosgate  speakers, paddle shifters, and selectable AWD oh my. I don’t think we are in Kansas anymore. Despite everything you could throw at this SUV it’s still the least expensive 6 cyl on the market.

We just bought a new Outlander after road testing the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson and comparing it closely to a Toyotas Rav4. The 220 hp V6 OL actually cost less than the 4 cylinder Rav4. The OL handles much better than the Hyundais as well and will run circles around the 4 cylinder Honda or Toyota SUVs. Ther 10 year, 100,000 mile warrantee is the clincher. The Mitsu Outlander is the best of the small SUIVs as far as we are concerned, bar none.

I never was a fan of the Toyota RAV4’s, so I’d take one of the OL any day. Glad to hear you got exactly what you wanted.

Further to my earlier comment, we have put several tanks of gas through the OL now and average about 22.4 mpg US in mixed town, country, city and highway driving, including a 2200 foot climb up to a mountain lake. That’s as good as our PT Turbo GT and we don’t have to pay for premium gas now.
