Ford’s New Hybrid
Ford has announced it's latest in propulsion technology development, the Ford Edge with HySeries Drive. The development of hydrogen fuel cells for use within the automotive industry is a mark that Ford is innovating the industry.

The HySeries Drive powertrain is smaller, lighter, cheaper and less complex than similar systems, but that doesn't make the Edge a production reality. Ford acknowledges that fuel cells need to be far more durable than they are now, and that the lithium-ion batteries which seem to be best for the purpose are prohibitively expensive.
At a few million a pop, don't expect these to be in production any time soon. Not to mention, where is are the hydrogen stations for fill up?
